One of the big reasons I chose to do these two cruises back-to-back was to visit Greece, specifically Athens. So much history here. Let's see what the town is all about.
What are the odds?!? Today of all days two unions in Greece decided to have a sickout because the unions are fearful the EU will end their public union job and they'll have to work for a private company in the same position. They admit there is no proof it is going to happen, just fearful it could happen. Why is that a big deal? Before entering the EU Greeks could retire with full pension at age 45. The EU forced it to 67. I'd want to keep that sweet gig too! And they wonder why the country ran out of money.

Not going to lie, Athens is a bit of a dive. Parts remind me of Tijuana. Builds are covered in huge graffiti tags. Nearly all buildings. Shop windows too. Lots of buildings are also falling apart. I don't get it, this could be a beautiful town but it seems there's a collective lack of making it beautiful.
